FIELD: railway transport; measuring facilities. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measurements of wheel rolling parameters of railway cars moving at maneuvering speed. Installation has steel plate with guard rail, wheel position transmitter, laser generator, TV camera, control device, version system electronic devices, computer and monitor. For measuring diameter or parameters of wheel profile and distance between inner face surfaces, wheel is set into rotation, with its furthest from center part remaining on steel plate. Laser generator emits fan light beam onto wheel. Corresponding image is formed. TV camera takes the image. Measured values and parameters obtained in electronic devices are transmitted to computer for processing and forming a message. Result is visualized on monitor. EFFECT: reduced number of distorted images at higher speed of measurement. 10 cl, 3 dwg
