GEAR FOR CURRENT DRYING OF WINDINGS OF ELECTRIC MOTOR Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: electrical engineering, current drying of transformers, electric cables and machines. SUBSTANCE: technical objective of invention consists in provision of qualitative preventive drying of windings, for instance, of electric motor at place of its installation without outside loading by way of uniform heating of phases by rated current under reduced standard voltage. Proposed gear incorporates two-position switch whose leads-out of first position of contacts are connected to two phases of network, whose central leads-out are linked to corresponding phases of winding of electric motor whose third phase is short-circuited to network, adjustable resistor connected with one lead-out to neutral of winding of electric motor and with another lead-out to lead-out of second position of one of contacts of two-position switch. Special feature of gear lies in connection of variable capacitor in parallel to adjustable resistor and of lead-out of second position of another contact of two-position switch to neutral of network.
