FIELD: shipbuilding; designing aft extremities of ships provided with electric propulsion plants. SUBSTANCE: extremity is provided with skin having framing system, blade propulsor and drive electric motor. Lower portion of extremity is made in form of separable module according to shape of aft bulb. AC electric motor is arranged inside this module. Aft end of electric motor shaft is provided with steady thrust bearing rigidly secured on module. Part of module engageable with ship's hull is made in form of hollow tubular member with hermetic closure. This member is mounted inside trunk of aft counter of ship's hull. Surface of module is smoothly engageable with ship's skin. Propulsor is directly secured on electric motor shaft. Inner framing of module skin may be made in form of bed frame of drive electric motor. It is good practice to position upper edge of tubular members of module above level of full-load waterline. Closure of module members may be made in form of watertight cover provided with holes for passage of ventilation lines and cables. Trunk of aft extremity may be provided with tight closure having holes for passage of ventilation lines and cables; sealing members shall be provided. Propulsor may be located in steering nozzle.
