FIELD: paint and varnish industry, more particularly preparation of nitroenamels. SUBSTANCE: described is method of preparing nitroenamel which comprises preparing nitrocellulose varnish by dissolving pyroxylin in solvents, preparing pigment past and making up enamel by mixing varnish and pigment paste. Dissolution of pyroxylin in solvents is carried out by addition triethyl amine viscosity regulator and pyroxylin concentration is 16% in varnish, and viscosity is then stabilized by maintaining varnish for 1-5 days at temperature ranging from 20 to 60 C. Invention makes it possible to use substandard pyroxylin powders for national economy needs and eliminates combustion of said powders.
