FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: switch-controlled coupling is used in mechanisms for transmission of rotation and braking of driven shaft. Switch-controlled coupling has braking element 2, driving half-coupling 3 and driven half-coupling 4 positioned in body. Driven half-coupling 4 is arranged on shaft 5 between braking element 2 and driving half-coupling 3 for axial motion and fixing in extreme positions by mechanism with pressure element 6. To ensure reliable transmission of torque and reliable braking of driven shaft 5, driven half-coupling 4 is made in the form of two parts 10, 11 positioned in succession along shaft 5 and coupled to each other by means of flexible element 12. In process of coupling operation, part 10 of driven half-coupling 4 comes in reliable contact with driving half-coupling 3 under action of flexible element 12 in one extreme position, thus transmitting rotation to shaft. In other extreme position part 10 contacts braking element 2 under action of flexible element 12 thus braking shaft 5. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 3 cl, 2 dwg
