FIELD: radiolocation, Doppler-pulse radars, radar equipment used to locate maneuvering target. SUBSTANCE: method is based on determination of maximum of modulus of correlation sum of selections of signal reflected from target and reference signal in space of parameters: frequency of signal and its derivative. Selections are divided into S segments of same length, value S being not smaller than eight and multiple of four, readings of discrete Fourier transform of segments are calculated, correlation sums are computed in nodes of grid of hexagonal type with periods 0.8/T and 6/T2 by frequency and by derivative frequency correspondingly, where T is length of selection of signal. Correlation sums are computed by summing readings of discrete Fourier transform of segments multiplied by complex coefficients. In this case one or two readings of each segment are taken into account, complex coefficients in correlation sum for nodes of grid corresponding to first 5S/4 numbers of frequency discrete are computed in advance and kept in storage, the rest of complex coefficients are computed by way of usage of corresponding values of coefficients with first 5S/4 numbers.
