RECEIVER FOR SATELLITE GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEMS Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

Abstract RU 2118054 C1

FIELD: satellite communication and navigation. SUBSTANCE: receiver rigidly clips signal at intermediate frequency 1023 MHz and converts it to logical levels. Resulted logical signal is added by modulo with long-distance pseudorandom sequence of satellite which signal should be detected or should be traced. This is achieved by modulo two addition of received signal and in-phase and quadrature components of carrier oscillator. Said components are represented as binary constituents which Doppler frequency and phase correspond to satellite which signals are to be detected or traced. Storage units 1 and 0 provide integration of received signals for one period of pseudorandom sequence. Fast Fourier transform is used for making a decision on signal detection and initialization of phase tuning. Relative distance and Doppler frequency are detected by means of tracing loops for delay and tracing loop for carrier respectively. Said results are used for calculation of target coordinates and velocity vectors. EFFECT: decreased weight and power consumption. 7 dwg
