FIELD: friction devices, mainly asbestosless friction devices used in various friction mechanisms. SUBSTANCE: friction device includes polymer binder, fibrous reinforcing fillers, dispersed fillers and intermediate dampening layer located between binder and fibrous reinforcing fillers. Fibrous reinforcing fillers or one of them are subjected to preliminary local destructive action forming deformation and defects in structure of dampening layer in areas of destructive action. EFFECT: enhanced plasticity of surface layer of friction device at friction surface during contact in the course of operation, thus reducing local specific pressures and surface temperatures; enhanced alignment.
