FIELD: manufacture of sanitary and finishing articles from porcelain and earthenware mass, certification of clay and kaolin raw material, proximity analysis of rheological properties of alumina materials. SUBSTANCE: specific resistance of several samples of tested ceramic material with different water content is conducted in correspondence with method and then their graphical dependence is plotted. Quantity of water required to make consistence of type " normal paste " and " limit of formation of structure " is evaluated by two moments of rise of electric resistance on obtained graph. Automatization of method suggests more accelerated and more accurate correction of starting material which should radically affect quality of manufactured products. EFFECT: evaluation of plastic properties of clays and kaolins with any water content at one multipurpose installation, tracing of kinetics of structural changes of plastic masses and suspensions, increased quality of manufactured products. 3 dwg, 1 tbl
