FIELD: sanitary and decorative articles made of ceramic materials. SUBSTANCE: development of method making it possible to determine optimum quantity of filling agent in porcelain and pottery masses that depends on chemical and mineralogical composition and dispersity. Specific resistance of several samples of tested ceramic mass with different percentage of filling agent is found and then graphic dependence is plotted. Percentage of finely ground additive with which curve of drop of resistance of all mass takes the form of straight line is considered optimum. Given process determining optimum quantity of filling agent in ceramic mass makes it feasible to find reliably optimum quantity of any filling agent for porcelain and pottery slips and other ceramic masses, to trace change of operational characteristics of ceramic samples depending on structural changes in their slip masses. EFFECT: reduced production cost and enhanced quality of manufactured products. 2 dwg, 2 tbl
