FIELD: electronics, radio engineering. SUBSTANCE: structure of directly heated cathode includes porous pellet saturated with cathode material, first metal part attached to lower surface of porous pellet, second metal part welded to first metal part and filament placed between first and second metal parts. Process of manufacture of structure of directly heated cathode includes manufacture of porous pellet having aggregate of cavities, linking of first metal part to lower surface of porous pellet by fusion, impregnation of material emitting electrons into cavities of pellet, welding of second metal part to first metal part so that filament is arranged between first and second metal parts. Second version of process differs from first one by sequence of operations, namely, first material emitting electrons into porous pellet is impregnated and then first metal part is joined to lower surface of porous pellet. EFFECT: prolonged service life of structure of cathode as thermal electrons are not emitted through lower surface of pellet. 27 cl, 9 dwg
