SUBSTANCE: method for checking compression of wound stator core made of electrical steel stampings compressed by means of pressure plates and bracing members that depends on measuring compression pressure involves excitation of periodic mechanical vibrations at several sections lengthwise of core followed by determining controlled variable; novelty is that vibration energy absorption parameter is proposed to be used as controlled variable which is to be compared with desired value and compression pressure is to be determined by ratio of result obtained to desired value; increase in vibration energy absorption is to be used as indication of reduced compression pressure.
