FIELD: electrothermics; domestic and industrial electric heaters. SUBSTANCE: current-conducting fabric of heating element has insulated resistive layers formed of complex conducting threads arranged perpendicular to end electrodes of fabric warp which are spaced apart by mass of insulating threads with additional electrodes placed in their vicinity that are crossing end electrodes; additional electrodes are perpendicular to the latter and parallel to polymeric conducting threads. For elongated electric heaters, complex conducting threads of conducting fabric are arranged in parallel with end electrodes; resistive layers are made in the form of strips arranged on warp and spaced apart by mass of insulating threads with intermediate electrodes placed in their vicinity; both end and intermediate electrodes are insulated from strips of complex conducting threads by insulating threads; additional electrodes are uniformly distributed along fabric weft perpendicular to complex conducting threads and cross the latter, insulating and metal-coated threads of fabric warp electrodes.
