CONTINUOUS AUTOMATIC PNEUMATIC TOBACCO TRANSPORTATION METHOD AND APPARATUS Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: cigarette industry. SUBSTANCE: method involves determining amount of tobacco required to be fed on the base of data on tobacco transportation speed values and amounts of tobacco available in cigarette making machine. Apparatus has control system with several programmed logic controllers which are adapted for determining mentioned required amounts of tobacco. Control system provides required correction of air flow rate and tobacco transportation speed in pneumatic conveyance line by regulating amounts of tobacco fed into tobacco conveyance line and air flow rate required for continuous transportation of tobacco. Method further involves providing continuous conveyance of tobacco at constant speed by adequate regulation of valve connected to vacuumizer for adjusting flow rate of air supplied into pneumatic conveyance line. Such method and apparatus do not deteriorate quality of tobacco directed through pneumatic conveyance line.
