PROTECTIVE ENVELOPE Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

Abstract RU 2155906 C2

FIELD: heat insulated pipelines used in power production, chemical, metallurgical and other branches of national economy and operating in conditions of significant temperature drop. SUBSTANCE: protective envelope is in the form of cylindrical shell whose beads are folded by 180 degrees one towards another in the form of bracket and joined one with another for forming quick-action lock. On outer side of shell adjacent to lock at least two cover strips are fixed along generatrix of shell and they are spaced by distance equal to 2-3 thickness values of shell from quick-action lock. Each cover strip includes petal bent by 90 degrees and having in such state height equal to thickness of lock of shell and end face normal relative to its beads. On one end of shell there are no beads along portion sufficient for overlapping with adjacent shell. EFFECT: simplified design and manufacturing process of envelope, easy mounting of envelope onto pipeline, improved reliability of mounting with possibility of dismounting joined parts. 3 cl, 3 dwg
