FIELD: methods of neutralization of mercury-containing wastes, mainly, of used luminescent lamps. SUBSTANCE: method includes combined grinding of lamps in mixture with grinding medium in form of crushed stone of 30-50 mm fraction, water, elementary sulfur and catalyst with the following amounts of components, wt. %: elementary sulfur 2.5-3/5; water 3.0-4.0; catalyst 0.5-1.0; the balance, crushed stone of 30-50 mm fraction. EFFECT: neutralization of mercury-containing wastes without contamination of environment with mercury vapors, and low cost of processing. 1 tbl
