FIELD: recycling.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nature-protection field, namely to method of neutralisation of various wastes containing metallic and vaporous mercury, in particular of used luminous tubes. Method includes binding of metallic mercury and its soluble compounds into insoluble, non-volatile and low-toxic compound - mercury sulphide using elementary sulphur, iron chloride, sodium hydroxide, ammonium sulphate and adsorbent. Carrying out combined grinding of mercury-containing wastes in water in mixture with grinding medium.
EFFECT: invention ensures processing of mercury-containing wastes without polluting environment with metallic mercury, and its vapours due to carrying out processing in closed reservoir during one loading and using additional reagents.
