FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: printer has changeable cartridge with ribbon. Printing cartridge contains ribbon moved by means of transfer mechanism. Driving member of ribbon in transfer mechanism includes brittle rods which break in response to occurrence of resistance to ribbon motion. Brittle rods limit force which motor used for ribbon transport may encounter, thus precluding damage to motor and to drive members coupled to it, as well as to electric circuit in case of malfunction.
