FIELD: petroleum processing. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to petroleum-containing sludges accumulating in various-destination tanks and consists in cleansing sludges with working fluids, diluting them, and withdrawal from tank. Removal and reuse of hydrocarbons and, to some extent, other constituents of sludges are combined in a single crude oil treatment process. In that process, sludge is resuspended in a vessel using mechanical, hydraulic, and chemical means, after which concentrated suspension is compounded with crude oil coming from oil field for being treated. Low-concentration suspensions with content of asphaltenes, tars, paraffins, and solids below 500 mg/l are mixed with treated petroleum. EFFECT: reduced expenses on processing and reuse of sludges and increased their treatment efficiency. 1 dwg
