FIELD: metal-working. SUBSTANCE: grease contains, wt %: graphite with surface modified with lignosulfonate and carboxymethylcellulose, 6-15; lignosulfonate, 3-8; ammonium sulfate, 2- 10; carboxymethylcellulose, 0.05-0.2; aqueous ammonia, 1-2; and water, the balance. Composition is prepared by disintegrating graphite (for example, using metal beads) in aqueous solution of lignosulfonate and carboxymethylcellulose followed by adding remaining grease components and stirring all components to form homogeneous mixture. EFFECT: improved high-temperature behavior and reduced ash content. 3 cl, 1 tbl
