FIELD: laser engineering, in particular, laser resonators. SUBSTANCE: the optical element has a high reflection factor and selectivity to polarized radiation, it represents a reflection diffraction element, which may be used as a blind mirror in the laser resonator. The slits of the reflection diffraction element are scribed on the working surface along the lines meeting on the resonator axis. At laser treatment of metals (cutting, welding, piercing) radial polarization of radiation is most effective as compared with polarization of other types, since for a radially polarized beam the absorption factor has the maximum probable quantity corresponding to absorption of R-wave on the whole treated surface: both on the front and on the walls. EFFECT: enhanced cutting parameters (at metal treatment) by 1.5 to 2 times as compared with the prototype (cutting rate or thickness of treated material, other things being equal); enhanced reflection factor and selectivity to radially polarized radiation. 1 dwg
