FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: mass-exchange column has packing 2 which may be mounted with column in horizontal position. Column has circular spacing 12 between packing and wall 10. Spacing accommodates skirtings 3 which include one band-shaped zone 30 adjacent to packing. Flat members 31 coupled elastically adjoin upper edge of band-shaped zone 30. They form transition to wall 10 and serve for removal of liquid from wall to packing during column operation. At least part of skirtings is provided with projections 4 in their band-shaped zones which, with column in horizontal position, keep circular spacing open and of constant shape under effect of packing weight.
