AUTOMOBILE HEADLIGHT Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

Abstract RU 2156705 C2

FIELD: automotive industry; directed light devices and systems. SUBSTANCE: to prevent blinding of on- coming drivers proposed headlight employs optical system with tubular elements of length not less than 1 mm in rectangular form and variable section. Elements are enclosed in housing of cone-shape and fill it up depending on volumetric capacity. Independent orientation of elements relative of axes of vehicle symmetry is provided. Larger section of housing is pointed to protective shield, and smaller section, to reflector. Light source is made to suit shape of smaller section of conical housing with provision of light capacity control. Angles of tilting of light beams in vertical and horizontal planes are determined depending on ratio of maximum size of tubular element section to its length whose value is not less than 0.001. EFFECT: improved safety on road, prevention of blinding of on-coming drivers. 4 cl, 4 dwg
