Toroidal working space organized between stator and rotor accommodates blades and separator coupled, respectively, with stator and rotor. Working space communicates with working medium delivery channel provided in rotor and with working medium discharge channel. Sectional area of working space equals difference between its maximal and minimal radii determined, respectively, as distance from machine center line and most distant point of working space and as distance from center line to closest point. Ratio of working space maximal radius to width of its sectional area is minimum 4.5 and maximum 9.5. Total volumetric and hydraulic losses are reduced by optimizing ratio of maximal radius to width of working medium sectional area that influences degree of leakage from working medium through slit-shaped clearances between stator and rotor, working medium transfer from high-pressure section to low-pressure one over working space, intensity of swirl generation at working medium inlet into working space, and hydraulic loss of swirling flow in working space.
