FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: rotation is imparted to part being machined, and longitudinal motion, to tool. Three rollers made of current-conducting material are used as tool. Rollers are secured in holder positioned above machined surface. Electric current is supplied to machining zone through rollers. Electric current heats surface being machined and provides for greater depth of machining with qualitative structure of strengthened layer and roughness and with reduced time of machining. Use of rollers made of fiberglass material promotes protection of machined surfaces of parts against corrosion. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 3 cl, 1 ex, 1 dwg
