FIELD: mechanical engineering; boiler building designing and making of water heating and steam boilers, economizers, air heaters, recuperators and other heat exchange equipment. SUBSTANCE: proposed cellular heat exchanger has tube bank with spiral multistart heat exchange surfaces fixed in tube plates. Ends of tubes are made in form of polyhedral surfaces, like rhomb or square, parallel to tube axis, mated surfaces forming tube plates. Diameter of circumference conventionally inscribed into tube plate cross section is either equal to or exceeds diameter of heat exchange spiral surface. EFFECT: increased heat transfer coefficient at high intensity turbulent mixing of heat carrier and heated medium. 3 dwg
