FIELD: preparation of mastic for making roll-free roofing materials of buildings, and hydroinsulation of building structures. SUBSTANCE: method comprises preparing suspension of asbestos in water under moderate stirring, dispersing melted bitumen in water in intensive mixer or colloidal mill to attain bitumen particles of less than 0.15 mm in the presence of emulsifier and subsequently stirring said suspension under moderate stirring to prepare final emulsion which is composed at bitumen to asbestos to emulsifier ratio from 1: 0.85 to 2:0.005-0.16 and at total concentration thereof from 40 to 56.8 %. Emulsifier is selected from group consisting of mixture of asbestos with finely crushed calcium oxide at 0.24- 0.3: 0.008-0.12 ratio, sodium alkylaryl sulfonate, mixture of sodium polymethylene naphthalene sulfonates with sodium lignosulfonate, sodium or potassium salts of tall oil acids, oxyethylated fatty C8-C18 alcohols with oxyethylation degree of 8-12.
