FIELD: mining industry, particularly, concentration of sand of gold placer deposits. SUBSTANCE: method consists in disintegration of mined sands, separation of boulders and pubbles, multistage classification into fractions with subsequent fraction concentration, separation of concentrate and disposal of tailings to dumps. After separation of boulders and pubbles, sands are subjected to screen analysis for metal and diagram is constructed of fall velocities in water of metal and barren rock particles. Using data of screen analysis, parameters of concentration (particle sizes, water flow velocities) are determined and multiple sizing is performed, and also concentration in ascending water flow, each time varying concentration parameters to side of their lessening. Largest fraction and finest overflow are directed to dump. Concentrate of each stage is directed for hydropyrometallurgical processing. EFFECT: higher efficiency of method. 2 cl, 2 dwg, 2 tbl
