FIELD: metallurgy, processing of copper and nickel matter containing nickel, copper, cobalt, iron, sulfur and noble metals. SUBSTANCE: method includes flotation separation of converter matte, extraction of metallized fraction with content of sulfur sufficient to bind all copper, cobalt and iron in sulfides and preparation of granulated alloy to produce nickel by carbonyl process. Required content of sulfur in metallized fraction is regulated with extraction of metallized fraction by change of intensity of magnetic field of magnetic separator within limits of 900-1500 Oe.
