FIELD: metallurgy, namely processes for making cathode nickel of copper - nickel sulfide raw material. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of flotation separation of converter matte by nickel and copper concentrates; oxidation calcination of nickel concentrate; reducing calcined product and diluting it; electrically extracting nickel, further processing of its remainder after dilution; performing electric extraction while using chloride solution obtained by dilution by means of chlorine of reduced calcined product in which content of oxidized metals is no more than multiplied by 1.5 times sum of iron and cobalt; treating non-soluble remainder containing noble metals with use of hydrochloric acid.
