FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy, particularly, production of powdery metallized alloy based on nickel; applicable in reduction of metal oxides. SUBSTANCE: method includes charging into reaction furnace of nickel protoxide, reducing agent, fuel and air for fuel combustion and reduction of metal oxides, nickel protoxide, up to metal state. One part of fuel is fed to head part of reaction furnace onto layer of nickel protoxide and reducing agent in amount of 1-5% of nickel protoxide weight. Reduction process is carried out with coefficient of air excess in furnace gas phase of 0.6-0.8. Fuel supplied to nickel protoxide and reducing agent is used in form of products of oil processing.
