FIELD: metallurgy, namely production of steel strip or sheet suitable for deep drawing, mainly manufacture of cans by ironing. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of making slab whose thickness is less than 100 mm of melt low-carbon steel in continuous casting machine; rolling slab in austenite range while using casting heat for reducing slab until its intermediate thickness; cooling rolled slab of intermediate thickness until ferrite range, then rolling slab up to final thickness. Intermediate thickness value of slab is no more than 1,5 mm, total reduction in ferrite range from intermediate to final thickness of slab is less than 90% and more than 75%. Method allows to make sheets or strips for deep drawing of steel with carbon content (0.1-0,01)%. EFFECT: possibilities for making sheets or strips for deep drawing of low-carbon steel. 11 cl, 3 dwg
