FIELD: powder metallurgy, particularly, dispersion-hardened composite materials based on copper; applicable in mechanical engineering, chemical and electrical engineering, for instance, for manufacture of parts of welding equipment. SUBSTANCE: composite material according to invention version 1 contains copper, aluminum, carbon, titanium hydride and additionally introduced magnesium found in composition of alloy or alloying composition with aluminum or copper, with the following amounts of components, wt.%: aluminum 0.15-0.75; carbon (graphite) 0.15-0.35; titanium hydride 0.30-0.75; magnesium 0.10-0.30; the balance, copper. According to invention version 2, material contains copper, titanium, titanium hydride, carbon and magnesium introduced additionally and found in composition of alloy or alloying composition of copper with magnesium with the following amounts of components, wt.%: titanium 1-4; titanium hydride 0.5-1.0; carbon (graphite) 0.15-0.35; magnesium 0.10-0.30; the balance, copper. EFFECT: higher quality of resistance spot welding of structural and stainless steels, nonferrous metals, and increased service life of electrodes due to use of offered invention. 2 cl, 4 tbl
