FIELD: transmitting and receiving antennas. SUBSTANCE: antenna has coils differentially wound on toroid segments and carrying opposing currents in chosen segments. Proposed antenna has one or more insulated conducting circuits with coils differentially wound around and onto surface, for example, on spherical one, multiple-connection surface, toroidal surface, or semi- spherical surface. Insulated conducting loops may form one or more endless current-conducting tracks around and above surface. Coils may be of spiral, partially spiral, centrode-peripheral configuration, or they may be made of conductor with slits on toroid. Centrode-frame coils are described with conductor on toroid incorporating two strips functioning as capacitor plates for frames selectively connected to one of strips. EFFECT: reduced space requirement of vertically polarized antenna. 41 cl, 72 dwg
