SUBSTANCE: electrode and cooling member for metallurgical cylinder has at least one chamber and at least one cooling member for injection of cooling medium into chamber. Chamber also contains at least one unit for gathering metal melt which enter into chamber. Chamber may be embedded into furnace wall and located in close proximity to metal melt. EFFECT: prevention of furnace leakage, when metal melt breaks into electrode or cooling member, decreased probability of explosion, when water contacts metal melt. 31 cl, 4 dwg
