FIELD: fireproof composite materials for application to article metal surfaces to protect from effect of open fire; applicable in construction, transport, various industries and everyday life. SUBSTANCE: fireproof composition contains binder in form of water glass with 2.65-3.40 module, nonburnt vermiculite, reinforcing filler in form of glass fiber and heat-resistant additive. Fireproof composition is distinguished by the fact that heat-resistant additive is used in form of graphite of GkhO-140 grade as dust waste of electrocarbon production composition has the following amounts of components, wt.%: water glass 27-44; glass fiber 15-18; vermiculite 25-35; graphite 15-20. Invention ensures multiple increase of fire resistance of coating made from available raw materials with no harmful effect on human organism in processing and operation of fireproof composition, reliable insulation of protected metal article. Offered material is made from relatively low-cost components, simple in preparation and universal in process of its application to metal surface of protected articles.
