SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical industry for making fire-resistant and heat-insulation coatings and a fire-resistant silicate coating on metal. The coating contains liquid sodium glass as binder, coagulated liquid glass as granular filler and carbon nanotubes that are dispersed in the binder and filler, with the following ratio of components, wt %: coagulated liquid glass - 10-12, carbon nanotubes - 0.0001-0.1, liquid sodium glass - the balance.
EFFECT: invention improves heat-protective properties of the coating.
