FIELD: construction of chimney stacks for thermal power stations. SUBSTANCE: chimney stack has bearing shaft supported by foundation ring and made through height and over perimeter of hollow staves, 4-12 m long, 2 m wide, 1 m thick. Staves are assembled in helical fashion with their ends displaced through height during one or several entries, braced together by means of shrouds to form cylinder, and provided with wedge-shaped gaskets placed in joints on external perimeter; locks are inserted in end joints; side surfaces of each stave are provided with longitudinal slots on one side and with ledges on other, their size being large enough to enable projection of one stave to tightly enter slot of adjacent stave. EFFECT: improved operating reliability, facilitated erection and dismantling, reduced building time. 3 dwg
