PROFILED FURROWS FORMING AND RESTORING APPARATUS Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: agriculture. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has frame with furrow cutting disk mounted for free rotation on horizontal shaft fixed on frame. Furrow cutting disk has working surface with trapezium-shaped section corresponding to predetermined shape and sizes of profiled furrow. Two flanges made in the from of flat ring are arranged in symmetry on furrow cutting disk. Oval or disk-shaped furrow opening member is rigidly mounted on frame or on four-link parallelogram mechanism, in front of furrow cutting disk in the course of advancement of apparatus. Furrow opening member cuts furrow of trapezium-shaped section, which is less than size of furrow to be formed by 20-40 mm. Such construction of apparatus allows slopes, furrow bottoms and adjacent bed edges to be compacted and, as a result, slant or slope soil washing out to be prevented during monsoon and prolonged rains. Apparatus of such construction may be used for forming and restoring of agronomic ameliorating bed furrows in excessive humidity regions.
