FIELD: hydrocarbon reforming catalysts. SUBSTANCE: catalyst contains matrix consisting of 0 to 100% of eta-alumina, the rest being alpha- alumina, and also, in % based on the total weight of catalyst: silicon 0.01-2, at least one halogen (selected from F, Cl, Br, and I) 0.10-15, at least one platinum group precious metal 0.01-2, and at least one promoting metal (selected from Sn, Ge, In, Ga, Ta, Sb, Pb, Rhe, Mn, Cr, Mo, and W). Catalyst is subjected to supplementary hydrothermal treatment at 300 to 1000 C in water steam-containing gas atmosphere.
