FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: described is new composition comprising epoxy resin (1) and cyanate- containing polymer (a). Cyanate-containing polymer is polyfunctional pheno- cyanate-phenol-triazine copolymer comprising three or more phenol residues of formula I: bonded by means of one of open valences with one or more triazine residues of formula II: , remaining open valences of these phenol residues being substituted by OH, OCN or other triazine residues provided that at least one of such remaining open valences is substituted by OCN-residue wherein n is positive integer equal or greater than 1; q and r, depending on identical or different integers of 0 up to 3 provided that sum of q and r in each particular case is 3, 0 and p, depending on each particular case are identical or different integers, of 0 to 4 provided that sum of 0 and p is 4; X is substituted or unsubstituted methylene or 1,4-benzene dimethylene where substituents are alkyl containing from 1 to 10 carbon atoms, halogen or furyl; and R3, in each particular case, are identical or different substituents other than hydrogen which show no reactivity under conditions essential for complete hardening of polymers. Hardened polymeric composition has high vitrification temperature, has perfect mechanical properties such as bending strength elongation modulus of bending resilience, compression strength, modulus of compression elasticity, and low water absorption. Said hardened composition is useful for making laminates, coatings, composite materials and molded products such as thermosetting plastics prepared molding or direct pressing.
