FIELD: fiber-optic engineering. SUBSTANCE: amplifier has laser pumping diode feeding pumping light beam, wavelength- division multiplexer for coupling incident optical signal and pumping light beam which is passed from pumping laser diode to fiber amplifying medium for amplifying incident optical signal coming from multiplexer using for the purpose light beam coming from laser pumping diode; it also has coupler connected in the form of feedback mirror to reflect incident optical signal pre- amplified in fiber amplifying medium and to convey reflected optical signal back to fiber amplifying medium; there is also circulator mounted in front of multiplexer and used to receive weak incident optical signal and to convey it to multiplexer as well as to let out the optical feedback signal amplified by means of fiber amplifying medium and passed through multiplexer. Amplifier is designed for operation in wavelength range of 1530 to 1560 nm. EFFECT: improved gain of weak signal throughout entire specified range of wavelengths. 5 cl, 3 dwg
