ALL-OPTICAL RETRANSMITTER Russian patent published in 1998 - IPC

Abstract RU 2105389 C1

FIELD: processing of information which is represented by optical signals. SUBSTANCE: device has non-linear ring resonator and two waveguides with electrodes which are located across resonator on its diameter over waveguides. In addition device has two semiconductor lasers which are located in resonator. One semiconductor laser has multiple sections and saturated absorber. Waveguides have optical contacts which are arranged in pair on opposite sides. Two optical contacts are optical signal inputs. Two other contacts are outputs. Mirrors of lasers are designed as Bragg mirrors. In addition semiconductor structure of multiple-section laser has distributed feedback circuit which is designed as Bragg lattice. EFFECT: increased functional capabilities. 3 cl, 10 dwg
