FIELD: rolled stock production, namely, exploitation of lubricating and cooling emulsion in cold rolling mills. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of feeding lubricating and cooling emulsion onto rolls, collecting it, measuring concentration of emulsified and non-emulsified oil components; interrupting addition of fresh emulsion when concentration of non-emulsified oil component achieves at least 10% of concentration value of emulsified oil component until reducing concentration of emulsified oil component at least by 2% of its initial concentration value. Process for adding fresh emulsion is realized continuously or periodically. At periodical process time period of fresh emulsion adding is no less than 0.01 of pause duration.
