FIELD: machine engineering, namely, systems for protection against shock and vibration. SUBSTANCE: shock absorber includes cylinder with mounting units, rods mounted at both sides of cylinder and tie bar joined with each rod. Free end of tie rod passes through locking device. Locking device includes base with inner cone and collet chuck with outer cone. Drive cylinder mounted successively with collet chuck has double walls, annular piston and overpiston cavity communicated with power source in the form of pyrotechnic cartridge. Gases generated at ignition of pyrotechnic cartridge pass into overpiston cavity and act upon annular piston that moves collet chuck to cone opening of base. Collet chuck clamps respective portion of tie bar, and rod of shock absorber is locked. EFFECT: double side shock absorbing, instantaneous fixation of object to be shock absorbed. 5 cl, 3 dwg
