FIELD: cable engineering. SUBSTANCE: connector has two mating parts; one part has shroud with switching member and contact field inside shroud with turning arm mounted on two half-axles provided with parallel webs and spring-loaded by ON- and OFF-position retainer engageable through its slots with mating ones on shroud; it also has pre-mating spring-loaded retainer. Other part has shroud with slit for passing switching member, mating contact field, groove engageable with pre-mating retainer, and bosses in the form of body of revolution with common axis intersecting longitudinal axis of shroud. Angular position of lever half-axles relative to switching member corresponds to that of bosses relative to switch slit. Lever webs have open curvilinear slot engageable with bosses of this part when ON- and OFF-position retainer turns towards mating part. EFFECT: improved ergonomic characteristics, reduced space requirement due to reduced effective area of connector. 2 cl, 5 dwg
