FIELD: connecting multiconductor cables under extreme conditions, such as in space engineering. SUBSTANCE: connector has two bayonet-joined parts; one part has cylindrical shroud with key member accommodating bayonet-slot shell and contact socket mounted for turning relative to shell; other part has frame fixed in tubular shroud provided with slit to receive key member; frame has guides engageable with bayonet slits of shell, mating parts locking gear, surfaces for gripping and holding parts carrying visual display members; ring secured on socket in one part has depression engageable with lock resting on compression spring which is placed in the bore of key member made in the form of spherical-surface bushing projecting above outer surface of cylindrical shroud; other part has longitudinal through slot in tubular shroud accommodating locking gear and transverse slot which is connected to slit and arranged to correspond to position of key member when connector parts are joined together; locking gear is, essentially, pawl provided with open- and closed-position locks. Each gripping and holding surface is proposed to be made in the form of grip fixed on shroud of mating part. Inner surface of tubular shroud may be formed by fixed bushing with slit connected to transverse slot whose position corresponds to that of key member when connector parts are joined together. EFFECT: improved ergonomic characteristics, simplified design, improved reliability of connector. 3 cl, 3 dwg
