FIELD: manufacture of fittings; shut-off fittings for thermal and nuclear power stations; pipe lines of chemical and oil-and- gas enterprise. SUBSTANCE: gate valve has body with guides and stop; seats, shut-off member made in form of two plates with beveled inner surfaces, movable rod with distance head and flexible member are arranged in housing. Flexible member is located along longitudinal axis of body between plates and rod for constant pressing of plates to distance head of rod. Inner beveled surfaces of plates are provided with limiting beads and distance head is provided with projections for engagement with above-mentioned beads. Stop is located underneath the body for engagement with plates in closed position. Plates are connected with rod by means of precompressed flexible member mounted between surfaces of plates directed towards it and distance head embracing this head.
