FIELD: medicine, endocrinology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the development of drugs of the plant origin used for treatment of patients with diabetes mellitus. Agent used for treatment of patients with diabetes mellitus is an aqueous infusion prepared of the following plants: major burdock roots, glabrous licorice roots, Russian hog's-fennel roots, valerian roots, sage-brush "God's tree" flowering sprigs, amaranthus herb, field horse-tail, common lady's mantle herb, medicinal lungwort herb, sown oat green sprouts, buckbean leaves and sensitive plant leaves from tree taken in the following ratios, mas. p. p.: major burdock, 15-20; glabrous licorice, 10-15; Russian hog's-fennel, 5-10; valerian, 5-10; sage-brush "God's tree", 10-15; amaranthus, 5-10; field horse-tail, 5-10; common lady's mantle, 10-20; medicinal lungwort, 5-15; sown oat, 5-10; buckbean, 5-10 and sensitive plant, 10-15. The use of the proposed medicinal agent for treatment of patients with diabetes mellitus of the I-st, II-d and III-d stage provides the stimulation of function of island of Langerhans pancreas and glands of endocrine system that results to the treatment of disease origin as such but not to decrease of blood glucose content only.
