FIELD: construction engineering; construction of underground workings near existing buildings and those under construction on dewatered grounds. SUBSTANCE: method includes pumping of subsoil water from main wells and/or underground working, organization of subsoil water depression surface in soil mass accompanied by irregular sinking of surface structures, observation of structure sinking and position of depression surface in the course of water level reduction through set of observation holes. Novelty is that subsoil water is pumped out of additional wells located on building side opposite to that there its sinking is maximal at the same time as of subsoil water is pumped from main hole and/or underground workings. EFFECT: improved safety of buildings; facilitated construction; reduced material consumption; eliminated internal erosion; prevented slackening of soil. 1 cl, 2 dwg
